Each year Arthur Goldstuck, MD of World Wide Worx, releases a report focused on Online Retail in South Africa. Last week his team published the 2019 report with some fascinating findings.
Despite expectations that we would see a 20% growth in eCommerce sales from 2017 to 2018, it has been a pleasant surprise to read in the report that the actual year-on-year growth was 25%. This shows a greater amount of consumers happily adopting online shopping.
By the end of 2018, the report states that the total revenue from eCommerce sales in South Africa will reach R14 Billion Rand.
These stats together with the other findings are all great news for the eCommerce industry of South Africa and for anyone who is starting to get their website up and running.
